Jemilea Wisdom is an exceptional mother, wife, writer, poet, scribe and lover of language. Born and bred in the UK of Jamaican descent, she founded the arts company Writerz and Scribez CIC. Jemilea has been commissioned widely including by Hackney Empire, Geffrye Museum and EE. She has performed across the country at Holloway Women’s Prison, Battersea Arts Centre, the Olympic Park and Richmix. Passionate about art as social action, she has partnered on projects with Crisis Skylight, Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAHMS), Creative Collisions, Pathway UK and BBC Radio 4 on issues such as homelessness, youth unemployment and mental health. Find out more.
